Ron Montgomery

Ronald Montgomery is a multifaceted artist, mentor, and global citizen—an author, musician, photographer, educator, coach, and a steadfast guide to young Black men. Since he began writing in January 1974, his work has been a deeply personal and powerful reflection of his lived experiences, blending the lyrical elegance of Nikki Giovanni with the immersive depth of narrative poetry.

With a life shaped by international perspectives, Ronald has lived and served in communities around the world, spending significant time in Europe and forging lasting connections that transcend borders. He views the global community as his extended family—embracing people as brothers, sisters, and allies in his lifelong mission to build stronger, more compassionate communities.

Ronald’s professional journey spans both education and corporate America, where filters of humanity, empathy, and love consistently guide his leadership and artistry. His commitment to mentoring and advocacy is matched by a belief in the transformative power of art and dialogue.

In an era when progress is too often met with resistance, Ronald remains resolute in his pursuit of justice and positive change. Through his voice, his vision, and his unwavering presence, he continues to inspire hope, cultivate connection, and call others to rise with purpose.

Ron’s work is available in Resurrection of TreesMoments Before MidnightTerra Incognita, and ENOUGH “Say Their Names…” from Bob Hill Publishing.
